Water Test of New Classic
We conducted a water test in 2008 of one of our New Ensign Classics in Dunedin. We have added about 30% more flotation in the New Boats and did the numbers but nothing like a actual test to see just how these boats will float if swamped.
We added water with a pump until the water was about 4 inches below the coaming boards. When we tipped the boat to add more water the water in the boat flowed out instead of in.
Also this boat was fitted with glass seats and floors and those parts floated also adding to the displacement displaced.
It was a very successful test as you can see. 3 persons standing on the deck.
